Friday Favorites!

This has been a week... I am tired and mentally drained which means I am so excited it is Friday!!! After having house guests last weekend- which was truly wonderful- I am looking forward to a quiet date night with the hubs and some relaxin'.

Thank you for linking us all up Erika, Narci and Andrea!

My first favorite for the week would have to be recapping the great time I had with my college roommate and her son. He is such a sweet baby and made my heart melt instantly. The hubs babysat one night and let us head out for dinner just the girls, we had play dates and swam. He loved chasing Bella around even though Bella was a little scared of the tiny human. One may ask, how do you fall in love with a 9 month old... take a look at the below pic and you tell me you didn't just fall madly in love with him?!?!? We miss his little sounds here in our empty house. Be sure to come back soon to your Auntie GG, little man!

#BABYfever

Next up is this adorable Target Halloween shirt that I cannot wait to wear to my friend's annual pumpkin carving get-together. I will, of course, begin wearing it excessively on October 1st.

Love me some Boos.

Another fave that must be mentioned are my new earrings that I purchased from Accessory Concierge! With a recent promo code that they were offering I got these beauties for only $18!!! Love me a good deal! I ordered them on Wednesday and they should be delivered Saturday! I also love fast shipping!

One more favorite would be the new show (late to the game again...) my hubs and I have started watching, Masters of Sex. The concept is interesting and has kept our attention so far. Let me warn you though...if the title did not convince you..this show is not for children's viewing!

An honorable mention for new favorite show that has to be disclosed is, This is Us. After only viewing one episode (and crying several times) I think I am in love.

#allthewarmfeelings

Lastly, I will be heading to Seattle in mid-October for a conference and need some recommendations on places to visit and explore. Any information would be very helpful! I have an extra day there to check out the sites and want to make sure I fill that day with as much Seattle as possible.

Thanks so much for reading and have an awesome weekend!

Friday Favorites!

What a fun week this has been! Every year, to raise money, the company I work for has a United Way week filled with fun events! The theme this year is the Olympics and it is bringing out the competitive side in all of my coworkers:) We are each goin' for gold! United Way is an incredible organization and we proudly donate a portion of our salaries to help out the amazing groups they support!

Thank you for hosting this fun weekly round up, Erika, Narci and Andrea!

On the top of my list this week would have to be how excited I am for the arrival/visit of one of my best friends and college roommate! She and her son (who I just met for the first time!) will be staying with us this weekend. We are still a "no kids" household....so I am so excited to have the sweet giggles of a little one fill our home:) Not to mention, I miss that little fella's mama so much because we live so far from each other...and I am loving the girl time I get with her! Listening to my friends talk about becoming/being mothers is such a cool experience. From the outside looking in.... I am in awe. I will join the ranks soon enough! Any tips you could give for how to spoil this new mommy during her visit would be so helpful.

Next up, would be a recap of the projects we knocked out this past weekend/week! I finally painted our front door. Once it was finished I was kicking myself for putting off this project! It was such an easy task and has added so much warmth and curb appeal to our home.

A before and after pic for you!

The color is Hazel by Sherwin Williams and I love it! It doesn't quite photograph as the true color but it is a HUGE improvement from the red:)

Another fave from this week would have be the making and installation of our barn door for our master bathroom! #FINALLY

We are in love! It adds so much more functionality to the space and the door turned into such a beautiful piece.

Onto the next fun item for this week  which was giving my wedding gift (#twoyearslate) to my visiting friend. I have used the company called, Marye Kelley Decoupage previously for a few of my other best friends wedding gifts and I love them! They decoupage your wedding invitation into a decorative plate. I am a sucker for a beautiful keep sake and any reminder of a beautiful wedding day.

Finally, I am so excited that my closest friends and I just finished off our second Supper Club! The first crack at it, we did an Italian theme in August and did not take a single picture #badblogger. This month we selected a Tampa theme! We have it organized so that we each choose a different item to contribute based around the theme (i.e. appetizer, entree, side, salad, dessert, drink etc) ! It is so much fun being able to kick back for a couple of hours and spend time with the special women in my life. Unfortunately, we were having too much fun again this month and our phones stayed hidden! #roundtwoandnophoto.

Next month- pumpkin theme! Please be sure to share any pumpkin related recipes:)

Have a great weekend and thank you so much for reading!

Friday Favorites!

This week I have pretty much felt like this...everyday...

It made me laugh pretty hard, and clearly, I am a little more than happy that this work week is wrapping up.

Thank you again for hosting this link up Andrea, Erika, and Narci!

This week, I will start off my favorites with this ah-mazing Greek yogurt treat that I have been having for breakfast, Pumpkin Harvest Crisp Flip by Chobani. It is so ridiculously tasty without being overpoweringly pumpkin-y!

#makesmymornings  #tasteslikeheaven
Second on the list would be a recent find on Shein.com for this adorable top. I am still waiting for its arrival but nothing can beat the price at $14.99!

Up next,  would be my review of another TV show I started watching late in the game, The Leftovers. I believe it is slotted for a third, and final season,  in 2017.   The premise of the show is set 3 years after an event called the "the sudden departure" which was the simultaneous disappearance of 140 million people on earth. The story line leaves you with so many questions and the acting is really on point.  Ladies, curl up with your hubs, grab a glass of wine and enjoy some Justin Theroux (abs). Jennifer Aniston is one lucky wifey ;)

Seasons 1 trailer for your viewing pleasure:

While I am discussing our recent viewing history, I should also mention that I saw the movie, "Sully". I am terrified of flying so it was not my favorite film.  I was, however, tremendously impressed with how cool Sully was under pressure during the crash and the following investigation. I can't say it was a film that I would recommend seeing in theaters but maybe a rental at home.

Finally, to round out this list I have a few recent purchases that demonstrate my excitement for fall:) These cute Jack O Lanterns from Target are helping me start collect some Halloween decorations :)

#thanksdollarsection
And the new copy of Southern Living with some Fall Baking recipes! Yummo!

I hope everyone has a great and relaxing weekend.

Thank you so much for reading!

Friday Favorites!

Another Friday already?! Man Oh Man- time is FLYING! I cannot believe we have entered September and you know what that means- Fall temps will soon arrive :) Yea scarves!

We had a great long weekend and really enjoyed the short work week.

Thanks for hosting this awesome link up Narci, Andrea and Erika!

My first and second favorites for this week would be recapping the TWO movies we saw this past weekend. #nokiddosmeansmoremovies The first was called, The Light Between Oceans

It was a sweet film that tugged at the heart strings. However, be warned, it is a long one and slow moving.  But the hubs and I did appreciate the acting and story line!

The second movie we saw was called, Hell or High Water. We were so surprised with how much we loved this movie! It was in one of our tiny theaters with so few show times we assumed it was going to be lousy but the acting was on point! The film was  fast paced and cut right to the story line. The opening scene jumps right into the action.

#pluschrispineiseyecandy

Both are good date night options!

The next favorite for the week, was exploring downtown St. Pete with the hubs. We loved wandering around and acting like tourists!

My food pic of my amazing lunch at "The Mill". I mean seriously.  Marble rye, Gruyere, Havarti Dill, Whipped Feta with sweet pepper jam, crispy shallots and cheddar sweet IPA vinaigrette definitely makes, "not your momma's grilled cheese".

After our leisurely lunch, we shared a nice little afternoon stroll and explored the Dali Museum :)

Fourth on the list, is a new "toy" I purchased this week from Amazon to complete the barn door we will soon be installing. I love the little pop of detail this track will add to the design! #diy
I will be sure to show off before and after pictures from this little project. #beenbeggingforthis

Lastly, this week I wanted to end on a high note with two inspiring quotes I read and had to pass along.

#aintthatthetruth
Wise words that that I should chant when I am mid hissyfit!

Have a GREAT weekend everyone and thank you so much for reading!

Friday Favorites!

We had such an incredible week! Our little weekend getaway up North created a short work week for us. On top of being off on Monday, I also had a bonus day off on Thursday due to Tropical Storm Hermine. Yay for a 3 day work week:) However, we are feeling the vacation blues pretty hard and are really missing our Canadian family. I guess that is always the best indication of a great trip...when you are so sad to leave.

And as always, thank you Andrea, Narci, Erika for hosting this link up!

1. The absolute top of my list for this week would have to be recapping our visit to Ottawa to surprise the hub's father for his 70th birthday! After having some issues getting there (#booalligiant)... I think we successfully pulled off surprising him! We spent time in the GORGEOUS weather visiting with my in-laws, nieces and nephew. I was in heaven:) These sweet kids filled both our hearts to the swelling point!

Can you even stand how cute they are?!!

Bonne fete, Chris!
2. Another gem from this trip was experiencing my first real Poutine. For anyone who is not "in the know"; a poutine is a French Canadian french fry dish topped with brown gravy and cheese curds (that squeak!). It is a true meal that keeps you filled with feelings of satisfaction (and regret) for the entire day!

I swear it tastes WAY better than it looks!

3. Another fun find for this week is the below top that is on sale! Anthropologie is having their "So Long Summer Sale" which is offering 40% off their sale items!!

4. I am SO late to this viewing party but I just started binge watching the Showtime series, "House of Lies". I already loved Kristen Bell and this show is pushing her into my favorite category!

5.  As Friday has rolled around I am finishing off this week thinking of another Monday off. Hopefully we will be enjoying some reading, the incredible sales and a day off of work. I hope everyone has a wonderful and relaxing Labor Day Weekend with family and friends!

We are looking forward to some time at the movies hiding away from the rainy times ahead.

Thanks for reading!
